Best Audio at the Golden Joystick Award goes to Resident Evil: Village - daywayage

Best Audio at the Chromatic Joystick Accolade goes to Nonmigratory Evil: Small town

Resident physician Diabolical Village has won the Golden Joystick Award for Best Audio.

Capcom's much-discussed subsequence beat out challenger from a strong line-up of nominees, which were:

  • Returnal
  • Jett: The Far Shore
  • Sable
  • Little Nightmares 2
  • Resident Unworthy Village (Success)
  • The Artful Escape

Resident physician Evil Village is the latest entry in the survival horror serial publication and made headlines for its mammoth villain, Lady Dimitrescu. It follows on from the events of Resident Evil 7, picking up the story of Ethan Winters chase an encounter with Chris Redfield, as he looks for his abducted daughter. The game's audio brings to animation not exclusive the characters but the titular village itself with all its horrors and mutant creatures.

In our review articl of the game, we praised the game for its incredibly strong first-fractional, calling it "strong, clever, and fun" and adding that it's "full of atmosphere and intrigue as you explore", helped of course by that honor-winning audio. Information technology even contains what we call unmatchable of the "best stand-alone repulsion levels of the year".

"It's these initiative sections that flavour the most well crafted and balanced. The monsters in the castle as well Dimitrescu and her daughters are the ghoulish female Moroaică (Dimitrescu eats workforce and enslaves women apparently). They're creepy, lumbering, and slow - the threat mainly climax from your own mistakes."

"Characters are entertaining, in that respect are some adorable 'beatified shit what?' twists and turns, and exploring and unlocking the titular village is appreciated," said Leon Hurley at the time.

Resident Evil Village is away now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Extraordinary, Xbox Serial publication X, and PC.
